A hardworking Omega, Chris was always more concerned with his friends and family than himself. He feels lonely as it seems that everyone around him in Shale River is either getting married or starting their families. When the bank manager hears that an old flame may be appearing at a charitable event, his heart skips a beat upon thinking about the chiselled Alpha hunk that got away.

When his wealthy family’s patience with his carefree, playboy lifestyle runs out, the wild bachelor Doug must act quickly to get back into their good graces. At a community fundraiser, all of Shale River is stunned when he announces that he and Chris are to be wed in a year – none more so than Chris!

They conspire to fake a relationship that seems to solve both of their problems: the Alpha encourages the uptight Chris to loosen up and enjoy life, while the Omega brings the free-spirited Doug back down to earth. But what happens when their fake relationship turns real? Will Doug return to his old party-boy ways? Or can the Omega’s love – and an unexpected pregnancy – finally give the Alpha something that he’s been searching for his whole life?

Set in the prairie town of Shale River, this non-shifter MPreg is a 65,000-word full-length novel with no cliffhanger. It involves a second chance, fake relationship that turns real between an Alpha/Omega couple, pregnancy risk, filthy language, romantic secrets, and handsome country gentlemen in cowboy hats and tight jeans working their hardest for a happy ending.

My first mpreg book! Okay, tbh, is not really what I envisioned. I want to address some issue that might be SPOILER.

First of all, the alpha hero Doug didn't act like a real alpha. He is a spoiled brat, a rich playboy. Very obnoxious in the beginning. I don't mind @sshole hero, but I wish to see an alpha take charge, growls and bang on his chest. Doug just seems very pitiful here. He might as well be a beta. Secondly, there are only 2 sex scenes. Obviously, I'm looking forward to more, especially one with Chris further along in his pregnancy. It was also disappointing there is no birthing scene. This is my first mpreg, so obviously I want to experience that and the whole shebang. In fact, why isn't Chris going for any checkup?

I feel that this is a sweet story and Chris is absolutely lovable. I slowly warm up to Doug as well. But the lack of depth to the story did bother me. I don't understand why both sides of the family seem not agreeable with their coupling. I don't understand why Doug said he was broke one minute and then he got the money to start a new business and set up a trust fund. That's not the definition of broke. And don't let me get started on him diving into it without making the required planning.
