Release Blitz Review: Step by Step by KC Wells

Step by Step
by K.C. Wells
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: March 13, 2017

Jamie’s life is one big financial mess, and it really isn’t his fault. However, the last thing he expected to find in the library was a Good Samaritan. He might have been suspicious of Guy’s motives at first, but it soon becomes apparent that his savior is a good man who has been lucky in life and is looking to pay it forward. Guy being gay is not a problem. Jamie’s not interested… or so he thinks.

Guy is happy to help Jamie, and the two men get along fine. But when Jamie’s curiosity leads him from one thing to another, Guy finds himself looking at the younger man with new eyes. What started out as a hand up is now something completely different….

You might just need to practice your suspense disbelief in order to enjoy this book because it is seriously too good to be true. If this is a historical romance, it might be more believable. But in this 21st century, we are too jaded and too cynical to trust a perfect stranger even though they had the best intention. Something about having a backbone and not taking free lunch?

Jamie is down on his luck college student working multiple jobs, owing rent and with no help from his parents whatsoever. The last thing he expect is getting financial assistance and free accommodation from a perfect stranger. This doesn't happen in real life, right?

Guy is filthy rich and a man of leisure. Yup, he doesn't seems to work anymore and he had more money than he could ever spend. When he came across Jamie, he decided to pay it forward and help a struggling youngster. Even though it might take a big effort to convince the poor guy that he had no nefarious intention.

One thing that I notice in this book is everyone is so nice and tend to overshare. I use to be annoy with characters keeping to themselves, but in this case here, Guy and Jamie really did put all their cards on the table. Nothing is spare and they both even have bffs at hand to listen to their predicament. Ain't they perfect?

They both had a huge age gap with Guy's children almost the same age as Jamie. I might find it weird in the beginning, but Guy didn't treat Jamie like a child, mostly just like a regular housemate. Guy is openly gay and Jamie is supposed to be straight. But the more time they spent together, Jamie unconsciously got attracted to Guy and one curiosity lead to another and more.

I think they both are endearing couple to read. There isn't big drama or angst. They fit into each other lives seamlessly and although Jamie just realize he is attracted to a man, he didn't freak out, instead he decided he will go with his heart. Guy is doing everything he can to help Jamie succeed in his path to become a lawyer and Jamie is accepting it with open arms.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

K.C. loves to hear from readers.
