Seduce the teacher.
Meet the cousin.
Make a deal.
Steal the painting.

Andrea Anderson has no clue of the thoughts churning around in the dark and dangerous ex-con’s head as he enters her classroom. In fact, she’s momentarily lost for words. Not in her entire teaching career has she had a student who looked quite like Stu Cross.

A widow at just twenty-eight, love is something Andie hasn’t considered a part of her life for a very long time. However, when lingering touches turn to whispered words and hot, searching stares, she begins to wonder if maybe she should take a leap of faith.

But Stu is in her class for a reason, and it has nothing to do with love. He’s there to burrow his way into her life and repay a debt, otherwise his family will suffer. Andie is the first person to show him true kindness since he left prison, and though he doesn’t want to mislead her, he doesn’t have another choice.

Before long, Stu can’t tell whether or not he’s acting anymore, and his feelings for Andie could throw all of his carefully crafted plans into complete and utter disarray.

**Can be read as a stand alone.

I actually took the initiative to glance back to Hearts of Blue to refresh my memory of the hero, Stu Cross. He's the eldest of the Cross brothers and in that previous book, he make the sacrifice to go to prison to protect his brother.

Now Stu Cross is fresh out of prison and he end up in an adult course as part of his parole's requirement. From what I knew of Stu, he is a dyslexic, but gifted in maths. So what is Stu's plan for the future now that his family no longer wants to return to their life of crime? Is he really interested in pursuing an education?

Andrea Anderson is a young widow and dedicated her time to helping adult to get back to education. She is swamp with responsibilities and debt and living with her neurotic but talented cousin, Alfie. When Stu swaggered into her classroom, she knew he is too much for her to handle.

There is a reason for Stu to be in Andrea class and he did not plan to fall for the woman who is full of kindness and acceptance for him. But faith has it that he can no longer hide his feelings nor take advantage of her trust. Will Andrea forgive him and help him despite his dishonesty?

As usual Cosway created such three dimensional characters that you can't help but love them. Not only that I'm rooting for the main characters, I'm incredibly invested in the supporting cast as well, especially Alfie and Jamie.

Andrea is constantly reminiscing about her lost husband, Mark and usually I find such instances annoying. But the way Cosway deliver it, I don't find it bothering at all. In fact, I'm sad that such a good man died young. Andrea is a lovable heroine, she is totally selfless and kind, always putting others need before hers. I'm glad that I get to know Andrea's feeling to Stu transform each day from teacher-student to lovers. Not that Stu is a young man who had hots for his older teacher. This doesn't have any taboo at all considering he is in an adult class.

There is a light touch of suspense whereby Stu is planning for a coup, but it isn't overall dramatic and there isn't any danger per se. But is an interesting plot that have me guessing.

Overall, this is another strong installment for my favorite series. I especially love the epilogue. Too bad Cosway didn't plan an extra book for this special character. I'm sure many fans would love it. The Cross brothers are a constant presence in the book as expected. Trevor is such a riot and definitely looking forward to his story next.
