Blog Tour ARC Review: Transfer by Aly Martinez

The Retrieval Duet by Aly Martinez is a two part series.

I fell in love with a man who didn’t exist.

What started out as romance ended in hell.
His words turned to razor blades.
His kisses converted to fists.
His embrace became my cage.
His body transformed into a weapon, stealing parts of me until ultimately….
I broke.

I hated him.
My sole job in life became to protect our daughter.

I wasn’t sure I’d ever escape the prison he’d skillfully crafted from my fears.
Until the day our savior arrived.

This is the story of how I escaped the man who thought he owned me.
The transfer of my life and my family.

I'm sure every reader are dying for this sequel after reading Retrieval. The author even want us to keep thing hush hush as to who is the hero in this book. Is killing me not to talk about him.

Be warn of spoiler for the first book in this review

Clare, the woman who married a monster and surviving everyday just to keep her daughter safe. This woman is so vulnerable and although she acted all tough, we knew she needed all the help she can get. I have the highest admiration for this woman.

Heath, a true alpha male and protective towards his woman and her child. Whenever a man can sacrifice everything to save the heroine, I knew I'm sold.

In the midst of all the drama, I also get to catch up with the previous couple, Roman and Elisabeth. Damn if I didn't love reading about their life together and how they face the crazy together.

But there are things that keep me away from giving it a 5 stars. Things like the time jump which happened quite frequent, which makes me feeling disconnect. The relationship between Clare and Heath seems happening too fast in the midst of the chaos. Or maybe I simply focus too thinking what the villain is plotting instead. One thing really bother is when Heath is sitting at home, when I expect him to actually go out and hunt the mofo.

Anyway, this duet is a really strong one coming from Aly. There are definitely some strong suspense and two love stories between four individuals that have me rooting for me. I like seeing how their lives intertwined with each other.

Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Aly Martinez is a stay-at-home mom to four crazy kids under the age of five, including a set of twins. Currently living in South Carolina, she passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a glass of wine at her side.

After some encouragement from her friends, Aly decided to add “Author” to her ever-growing list of job titles. Five books later, she shows no signs of slowing. So grab a glass of Chardonnay, or a bottle if you’re hanging out with Aly, and join her aboard the crazy train she calls life.
