Blog Tour ARC Review: Sugar Rush by Sawyer Bennett

Sugar Rush
(Sugar Bowl, Book #2)
by Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 16, 2016

In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (“A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!”—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love.

After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She's closing in on the site's heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend's business partner and her lover, by her side. She'd thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing?

Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn't exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT's trust and pretend that they're still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.

Note: Sugar Rush ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck's story concludes in Sugar Free!

4.5 Holy Moly! stars

Sawyer Bennett did it again and manage to make this middle of the series book even more intriguing than the first one. Seriously, I think my heart just beat out of my chest during all the suspense.

From the cliffhanger in the previous book, I'm a bit worried that Beck and Sela will be separated too long and I need to deal with too much angst. But worry not. I appreciate the fact that they didn't take much time to reconcile and bare their soul for each other. All the secrets between them are out and they pose as an united front from then onward.

Beck is perfection. Not only he came to love Sela with all her secrets and shocking truth, he is very supportive to her goals. How can I not swoon over the man who practically can sacrifice everything to avenge for his woman.

There is a heavy dose of lovey dovey stuff between these two before their revenge plan came into place. I just swoon over and over and I kind of miff that Sawyer Bennett cut short some of the sex scenes, especially the one involving a butt plug. Urg! Can't a pervy reader enjoy her perviness abit more?

Beck and Sela are playing this cat and mouse game with the evil JT, hopeful to kick him out of Sugar Bowl business and incarnate him for his crime at the same time. Will they succeed? Being this is not the final book yet, I knew something is going to happen and is something bad. I'm anervous wreck, gripping my kindle hard enough to splinter.

The reason I decided to rate this 4.5 instead of 5 is due to the little idiotic move by Sela towards the end. I mean she was pretty clear headed and sane throughout the book, why would she suddenly went and did something stupid at the end? I know Sawyer Bennett need it to create a cliffhanger, but I wish she use a more probable way to make things more easier to believe.

Overall, this series is racking up as my favorite series of Sawyer Bennett's so far. No matter, how the last book will turn out to be, this series totally kick ass. You don't want to miss out on Sawyer Bennett's best work yet.Love, sex, drama, revenge, suspense in one neat package!

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary’s strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.
