“This book devastated me in the most wonderful way,” raves Meredith Wild. In Sugar Daddy, the New York Times bestselling author of the Cold Fury series proves that vengeance is sweet—but seduction is to die for.
Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.
The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.
Note: Sugar Daddy ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story continues in Sugar Rush and Sugar Free!
5 'captivating' stars
When I saw the cover of Sugar Daddy, I thought is going to be a fluffy read. I'm sure in for a great surprised indeed. The backstory of the heroine is nasty, the story came with a hint of suspense and revenge plot, but mostly in this first book, what we get is a lovely romance with a big cliffhanger! Watch out for it!
Sela Halstead, 26, a psychology student who just realized her biggest nightmare is, Johnathan Townsend, JT, the co-owner of The Sugar Bowl, a dating site for the rich old man and young girls. She decided to plot her revenge by infiltrating his party and disguise herself as one of the Sugar Baby. However, instead of getting on with her target, she caught the eye of the other co-owner, Beckett North.
Beckett North is the backbone of the lucrative Sugar Bowl company and a sought after bachelor. He is a career man who never want to settle for commitment, but after an one night stand with Sela, he find himself seeking her out and wanted to tie her down with a short term agreement.
Sela plan is to be with Beck in order to get closer to JT, but she got more than she bargain for when she move in with him and subsequently found herself falling for the man.
The heroine, Sela, is a woman on a mission. Although her plan was lackluster at best and I don't know how she gonna pull anything off, I still admire her strength and determination. Despite her motive to be with Beck, she is still a warm hearted woman with a conscience. I can see that her heart is slowly thawing and she really want a HEA for herself.
Who wouldn't fall for Beckett North? I never thought he will turn out to be such a lovable hero. I thought he is gonna be a total commitment phobic ass. But alas, Beck is simply wonderful and such a great lover and boyfriend. Although his choice of friend left much to be desire. He had a tight friendship with JT that make him overlook his friend's misdemeanor over and over again. Beck keep alluding to some secrecy between himself and JT and I can't wait to find out more about it.
That slime ball, JT, I'm so looking forward to his demise. Sawyer Bennett, please make it awesome so that the wait for the next two books are worth every second.
