( 4.5 stars)

Even The Score is the perfect kind of feel good romance that make me laugh and give me all the warm fuzzy feelings. It come with a dose of smart humor, a pair of lovable characters and some emotional moments that left my heart tender. I spent my weekend curled up on the bed with Hunter and Tess and fantasizing of having a threesome with them.

Meet Hunter Dade, the cowboy with a hero complex andTess McKenzie a spitfire, aspiring theater actress who ruined his wedding day.

He thinks she is a snobbish little prissy princess who looks down on his roughneck ass.
She thinks he is a Texas hick who looks down on her arts and female power.

Let's cue the fireworks, shall we?

Revenge was a dish best served in bed - And Tess McKenzie was about to get a five-course meal.

One year ago, Tess was the maid of honor and best friend of his bride. When their path cross again, they are the frenemies you wish they will get down and dirty with each other. Due to his bride-less circumstances, Hunter decided to proposition Tess to be his fake fiance for a weekend to win a property deal in return for a big check to start her own theater.

Their fun banter and mockery on each other is simply delightful to read. Add in some chivalry crap from Hunter, it provide healthy dose of sexual tension.

I like that Hunter and Tess isn't what they appear to be at first glance. They both have a past that shaped what they are today and I can see their motivation behind the dreams they are chasing.

Hunter is the epitome of chivalrous isn't dead. Despite his upbringing or maybe due to his upbringing, he act as the perfect gentleman, the protector and the provider for the people he cares about selflessly. He is adamant to prove that he is no longer the worthless white trailer trash.

A man like him could never be worth of even touching a woman like this. But he dared all the same because he wanted to know what it was to love a goddess, if only for a short while.

The more time Tess spent with Hunter, the more she is falling for the infuriating, stubborn brute. I mean who wouldn't love his white knight complex, putting of her needs at forefront and giving out all those orgasm-inducing foot rubs. But she is having a hard time convincing the stubborn man that he is entitle to his own happiness.

"I hope you find her one day, this perfect woman who can make it all better."

Overall, this is another surprisingly great read for a new-to-me author. It was fun, it was sexy, it has a book husband quality hero, my heart hurts a little here and there for Hunter and the ending was simply perfect to wrap up the story.

"All I need is you. And if I have you, then I'll truly arrived at the place where I'm meant to be and with the woman I'm meant for."
