Review: Ricochet ( Addicted #1.5) by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie

Ricochet by Krista Ritchie

As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.

Lily and Lo have three months to discover just how deep their love really goes.

Why does this one even called Addicted #1.5? I thought it was a short novella, but this one felt like a full length to me and no one should skip this book if they love this series.

*contained spoiler from book 1*

Although Lo was in rehab and we wouldn't see much of him in Ricochet, I enjoyed this one tremendously. Despite being absence in person, Lo is always present in Lily's mind. I'm also invested with all the secondary casts and they definitely can carry the story without the presence of the MC.

Lily - with Lo in rehab for 3 months and she is not supposed to visit him, Lily is dealing with her own addiction. I can see how she struggle with staying faithful with so many temptation around. Hot guys were abundance and everywhere! I'm anxious and worry about her most of the time. I like seeing Lily reconnect with her sisters and spending more time with her family.

This is Lily 2.0 - the girl who is actually trying to be a part of her family's world.

Loren - I'm not sure what the future holds for Loren, but I'm happy that he wanted to be sober and deal with life later on. Despite the distance with Lily, he still make the initiative to reconnect with her.

Lily and Lo - I love those flashbacks to their childhood and early days. No, is not recap from Book 1, those scenes were totally new.

"Outercourse. I think we had outercourse!"

Rose and Connor - I love this couple and envision them making Einstein babies in future. They were constantly at odds with each other and I bet Rose keep trying to push Connor away, but the guy is just too persistent.

"I promise, she will not only be respectful but she'll be intelligent and know more than Connor and me put together."
"That's impossible. We're the two smartest people in the entire world. You put us together, and you get a superhuman."

Ryke - if only I got such a great big brother. To me, Ryke is like a knight in shining armor and will just sweep in to save the day. Every time when he is around, I know everything is gonna be okay.

Ryke and Daisy - they got quite an age gap here. Can't wait for Daisy to grow up and see how her relationship with Ryke progress. Now their status is too much of a big bro and lil sis.

"You're a journalism major, aren't you? Shouldn't you be a wordsmith?"
"Shouldn't you be a voiceless mannequin?"
