In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. Review

This is not a reread. I really did read my first BDB (gasp) and I truly enjoyed the world building immensely. The romance was too insta-lust for my taste, but the rough journey and the ending make up for it.

Wrath is the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, who also known as the Blind King. He is visually impaired and might even lose his eye sight for good. When his 'brother', Darius asked him to help his half-human daughter through her upcoming transition (into a vampire), Wrath initially refuse. But after Darius was murdered, he gave in to his brother's last wish, which is to take care of his daughter, Beth. Hmm... how is this badass vampire gonna break the news?

Beth is a crime journalist, who had a mundane lifestyle. Her life had always been unsatisfying. When Wrath appeared and the truth was revealed, she was shocked to find out that she is a half breed vampire.

They both have a serious insta-lust going on and both were practically jumping on each other during their first encounter, which had me rolling my eyes. Are you kidding me? But really, with so much going on with the brotherhood, their battle with the Lesser and whatnot, you hardly have time to feel to nitpick on the romance.

I love the brotherhood, they were like a bunch of violent and trigger-happy soldier. Every single one of them have a distinct personality and I can't wait to read each of their story.

Rating 4/5
