Review: Conflicted Love ( Needle's Kiss #2 ) by Lola Stark

Conflicted Love by Lola Stark

Trip’s life motto is simple: get in, get off, get out. His lifestyle works for him, that is until he finds himself in an unexpected situation with the one girl he can't seem to get out of his mind.

Teeny has been strong for too long. One amazing crazy night, with her best friend's cocky colleague, leaves her with more than just unwanted feelings and cravings she just can’t seem to quench.

She's knocked up.

He's freaked out.

Life is about to get crazy for two people who can't stand to be close, yet can't seem to pull apart. Tension and confusion turn into mood swings and midnight snacks. How can things ever go back to simple times when every direction leads to chaos?

3.5 'conflicted' stars

This book was filled with tons of unnecessary drama that I felt so conflicted on how to rate this. All these drama was borderline annoying because it just went on and on and on right up till 60%. I love Mace and Scar's story in Tattered Love much more. And these two lovebirds were all over each other here and I love every scene with them in it. So make sure you read Tattered Love first.

We seen some of Trip and Teeny from Book 1 and there was a big revelation in regards of them having a baby after a drunken one night stand. Cue epic tug-o-war of love/hate/bicker/meltdown.

Let me start by saying, Trip was amazing by his own. He was a tattoo artist, pierced everywhere, including you-know-where and have a little cavemen tendency. He used to be a manwhore, but he always had a soft spot for Teeny. Now that he found out he had knocked her up, he was over the moon and wanted to do the right thing. He was putting himself out there to care for her and make her happy. They were having a baby! The way he keep insisting his child was going to be a boy due to his own masculinity was so freaking cute.

Now that I need to talk about Teeny, hmm... where should I start? She partly ruined the book for me for causing all the unnecessary drama. 'Oh, he's so hot, I want him so much. But I don't want him to want me because of the baby'. Urg! I can blame it on the hormones, but when the same issue just went on and on, I just can't stand it.

"Stop running away! Act like a fucking grown up for once."
"Don't you dare tell me what to do! Don't patronize me. And get the hell out of my way!"

You know what? These two gave me a freaking aneurysm.

After they finally settled their differences and came to accept each other, I was finally treated to some sweetness and swoony moments. Unlike in Tattered Love, there was an under lying suspense that still kept you guessing towards the end. Here there wasn't a strong plot to keep me engage beside the pregnancy, by 70% I was skimming through waiting for their baby to pop out.

I still think this is worth a read if you love Tattered Love because Mace and Scar had their wedding here! Swoon! Oh, there was even a little snippet of Mace and Scar's Christmas celebration in the end. Love it!
