G. I. Joe: Retaliation (2013)

Continuing from G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the Cobra Commander and Destro have been captured by G. I. Joe, while Zartan is impersonating the US President. While the real President was held hostage by Zartan, they manage to find out where are the Commander and Destro held captive. With the assistance from Storm Shadown and Firefly, the Cobra Commander was freed.

The Joes went on a mission entrusted by the fake President to retrieve a nuclear warhead. The mission was completed smoothly, but no one anticipated that they will be attack back at their campsite. The entire group of Joes got wipe out except for Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), Flint (D. J. Cotrona) and Lady Jaye. Assuming all Joes were dead, the trio went out to avenge the death of their brothers. Aided with acute observation, Lady Jaye found out that the President might be an imposter. Later on, they seek help from retired General Colton (Bruce Willis) to save the US President.

Meanwhile in Tokyo, Snake Eyes and Jinx are on a mission to capture Storm Shadow while he is recovering from his injury sustained during the breakout of Cobra Commander. After they successfully captured Storm Shadow back to Japan, it was revealed to Storm Shadow that his Master was actually killed by Zartan. After learning the truth, Storm Shadow agrees to join Snake Eyes to overturn the Cobra to avenge his master death.

Snake Eyes together with Storm Shadow meet up with Roadblock and his team at General Colton's where together they plot to taunt Cobra's world domination plan. We finally witness Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes having each other back in a battle and Roadblock had his own smackdown with Firefly.

I can never understand why after capturing the super villains, they always being retained instead of killed off. Obviously, the act is to give them a chance of escape and all hell to break lose. It came as a surprise to me that Dwayne Johnson got the most screen time here along with D. J. Cotrona as Flint, who I had absolutely no idea who is he prior to this movie. The action scene that I enjoyed most was at the ice-capped mountain between the ninjas. Though it is totally unrealistic and farfetched, it was beyond amazing and jaw dropping. Since Destro is still in captivity, we can safely assume that we will get to see more of him in the next installment.
