London, The Summer Musical

London, The Summer Musical @ Sunway Lagoon

Venue : Amphitheatre, Sunway Lagoon
Date : 11 June to 8 July 2012 (except Tuesday)

It was an impromptu outing for me when my colleague suddenly showed up with 3 free tickets for London, The Summer Musical on Monday, 25 June and told me that the tickets was for the day itself. My colleagues got the three free tickets by spending more than RM500 in Sunway Pyramid. Three of us agreed to go after work in our formal attire. In order to have easier access directly to the Sunway Lagoon entrance, I was told to park at B4 or B5 of Menara Sunway. But I made a wrong turning and end up parking at the Sunway Hotel instead.

This is my first time attending a musical show, and I'm anticipating something like broadway or Glee, though I had yet to watch any of them. The only musical I watched before were Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Phantom of the Opera or if you take into consideration the Bollywood as well.

We reached Sunway Lagoon entrance at 7pm and was taken to the Amphitheatre by a tram. Our free tickets location were at the Blue Zone, which located direction in front the stage but quite some distance away. The show starts at 8pm and while we waiting, the seats slowly fills up. There was quite a crowd even though it was a Monday.

The show starts with featuring three flight attendants from America, Cindy, Crystal and Penny who got to spent 48 hours while stopping over at London. The main casts consist of 6 British actress and actors, and supporting casts are 10 local dancers. They featured a broad range of songs from oldies like James Bond theme songs, to the recent one from One Direction. The singing from the ladies were great, and they guys look gorgeous especially with their drool worthy British accents. Due to the unplanned outing, I did not bring along my camera. What a bummer!

They are selling VIP seats tickets at RM150, while Blue Zone tickets at RM80. But if you buy it from Groupon, you will get yourself a better deal. I think is totally worth it if you have yet to experience a musical show.
